Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park

The Secwepemc Museum & Heritage Park provides a fascinating insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Secwepemc First Nations people. Cultural displays extend onto a Heritage Park, featuring archaeological remains of a 2000-year-old Secwepemc winter village site and gardens featuring traditional plants; lunch will be provided.

Moccasin Trails

Tour the traditional waters of the Secwepemcuu’l’ecw (Shuswap Nation). Learn the history from a local Knowledge Keeper who will tell you the stories as you paddle gently down the South Thompson River. Take in the eagles and hawks soaring, see mountains and historical sites from the view of the path our ancestors have traveled for generations.

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre

Since its renaissance in the early nineties, Sun Peaks Resort has risen majestically to the challenge of becoming an internationally renowned year-round destination resort, boasting a playground that now offers the second-largest ski area in Canada and a full complement of winter and summer activities. Breakfast is included.

Day 2

Indigenous World Winery

Indigenous World Winery merges modern culture with Indigenous history. The winery proprietors are descendants of the Syilx people and have a strong passion for nature, the land and the rich history of the Okanagan nation; lunch will be provided.

Westbank First Nation: Sncewips Heritage Museum

Explore the culture and heritage of the Syilx peoples of the Okanagan valley at the Sncewips Heritage Museum. Take a guided tour of our museum, land or community; learn a few words of nsyilxcən, the traditional language of the Westbank First Nation; discover the intricate arts and crafts of our peoples.
