Day 1

Flight To: Sudbury Airport
Car Rental
Check in: Authentic Teepee Glamping Adventure

Experience a real glamping adventure on Manitoulin Island, Ontario.  Spirit Island Adventures supplies traditional Indigenous teepees that offer the outdoor experience of Manitoulin Island camping, with the comfort and warmth of a luxury cabin.  Teepees come with either king-sized beds or twin beds and can sleep up to 4 guests. Each bed is decked out with plush duvets, and luxury sheets and pillows.  To top off your luxury teepee experience, these glamping beauties are furnished with buffalo hides, furs, comfortable lounge chairs, and wood flooring!

Spirit Island Adventures also offers an incredible array of activities on the property from horseback riding, to canoeing, hiking, and more! Experience an eco-adventure like no other with educational interpretive tours hosted by Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi guides. 


Day 2

Activity: Canoe Heritage Tour

Listen to traditional Indigenous stories, legends, and history from your local guide while relaxing and paddling your way around the gorgeous Manitoulin Island.  Sip hot tea, and try authentic bannock (Indigenous flatbread) while learning the culture and survival techniques of the local peoples and how they live in harmony with nature. 


Day 3

Activity: Voice of the Drum

Experience an introduction to the Indigenous hand-drumming and professional singing with the “Voice of the Drum” tour with Great Spirit Circle Trail.  This powerful tour will inspire and enchant you as you feel the deep connection between the Indigenous peoples and Mother Earth.  ​For the full experience, you will even learn to make your own hand-drum to take home. 

Check-In: Manitoulin Hotel & Conference Centre

Stay in a comfortable and modern hotel on the North Channel of Lake Huron that celebrates the beauty and history of the First Nations people in the Manitoulin area. This unique hotel offers guests casual fine dining,  gorgeous views, and cultural Indigenous experiences. 


Day 4

Activity: Ojibwe Cultural Foundation

Enjoy the culture, art, and history of the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation.  Learn about cultural practices, spiritual knowledge, and the legacy of the residential school systems through art, language, songs, and stories.  The foundation offers changing exhibits and shows to keep visitors entertained and informed.
